Barcelona Cooking Class Day Tour

This unforgettable day-long tour includes a visit to the city's most talked about marketplace, La Boqueria, a gourmet cooking class with a Spanish chef and a delicious 3-course meal - and that's only in the morning! In the afternoon, you will discover the heart of the old city, the Gothic Quarter, and marvel at its architecture and history. On a gourmet walking tour of this district, you will try fresh local cheeses, wines, dried fruits, nuts and a regional favorite, chocolate con churros. Though you could not possibly see everything Barcelona has to offer in a day, you will see more than enough to start planning your return trip before you even leave this magnificent city!

You will start your excursion by meeting our chef for a visit to the world-famous La Boqueria, a fascinating marketplace that offers the freshest and most diverse selection of produce from all over Spain. The word "Boqueria" was partially named for the response people have when they first see this extraordinary market: their mouths (boca) fall agape! Built on a site where an open-air market has existed since the 13th century, just off of the famous La Rambla street, La Boqueria offers an incredible array of colors and activity and is a must-see to discover why Spanish & Catalan Cuisine is internationally known due to its ingredients!

During the tour of the market, you will learn an infinite amount about local products and our chef will help you choose the best ingredients for your gourmet cooking lesson and 4-course Spanish meal. Afterwards, you will embark for a private cooking lesson at a prestigious cooking school where you will learn the secrets of the best seafood paella, suquet or crema catalana in town. Sit back and relax with a glass of wine or put on your apron and participate if you prefer! Either way you will be sure to enjoy the chef's cooking from appetizer to dessert.

After lunch, you will traverse the city on a gourmet walking tour through the Gothic quarter of Barcelona! Your journey will pass by a few architectural feats including the Gothic Santa Maria Church. The Gothic Quarter is considered the heart of Barcelona and home to an abundance of tucked away gourmet cafes and shops. Our expert guide will amuse you with fascinating local stories and funny anecdotes. You will take the path of Picasso on the famous Avignon Street, where you will taste fresh Spanish cheeses at a charming local cheese shop paired with a perfect wine, stop for refreshments at the oldest venue in Barcelona for dried fruits, while watching the process first hand. This local store, specializing in roasting coffee beans and nuts for over 150 years, is still decorated with its original furniture and old wood-burning stove. You will enjoy this afternoon in true Spanish culinary style! And to round out our tasting day of Delicious Barcelona, we will finish with dessert as the locals would, at an authentic and charming venue with chocolate con churros!
