A Taste of Catalonia: A Day of Culinary Artwork
The morning of your one-day foray into Catalonia starts with a guided transfer from Barcelona to Pals, a romantic, picturesque and one of the best-preserved medieval villages in all of Spain! As you walk through the narrow village streets, next to the city walls, towers and churches, you will feel as though you have walked into a new time altogether. The stone archways, cobblestone streets, and wrought balconies adorned with flowers create a welcoming feel in this Romanesque village.
After strolling through this medieval village, it will be time for your gourmet cooking lesson at a modern cooking school, where you will learn all the secrets of traditional seafood paella. You will have the opportunity to participate in the chef’s preparations, or if you prefer, you can sit back, sip your wine, and enjoy his artful work. You will appreciate the personalized attention of our chef and a sumptuous 3-course lunch. Perhaps you will have fine red prawns from Palamós with a distinct flavor, and fresh lobster from Mallorca as starters to your paella. The meal will end with the delicious Catalan crème .
After lunch, you will visit the most chic of the coastal towns in Costa Brava, Calella and Llafranc. You will drink in the breathtaking views afforded from these Mediterranean seaside towns. Starting first at a lighthouse, near to a quaint seaside inn with a sunny outdoor terrace, you will enjoy an aperitif, the view, and breeze of the sea. There are plenty of scenic walks to explore the area as well as picturesque ocean front spots to see. After the view from the lighthouse, you will go down to the sandy beaches, sun-drenched seaside storefronts, and inviting walkways for an afternoon of Mediterranean living. Your guide will share several suggestions of the best terraces to visit for a drink and can direct you to the best of the local shopping as well. After an afternoon of authentic cuisine and exploring the coast and depending on your schedule, you will transfer back to Barcelona.
