On a gourmet walking tour of this district, you will try fresh local cheeses, wines, dried fruits, nuts and a regional favorite, chocolate con churros. Though you could not possibly see everything Barcelona has to offer in a day, you will see more than enough to start planning your return trip before you even leave this magnificent city!

You will start your excursion by meeting our chef for a visit to the world-famous La Boqueria, a fascinating marketplace that offers the freshest and most diverse selection of produce from all over Spain. The word "Boqueria" was partially named for the response people have when they first see this extraordinary market: their mouths (boca) fall agape! Built on a site where an open-air market has existed since the 13th century, just off of the famous La Rambla street, La Boqueria offers an incredible array of colors and activity and is a must-see to discover why Spanish & Catalan Cuisine is internationally known due to its ingredients!

During the tour of the market, you will learn an infinite amount about local products and our chef will help you choose the best ingredients for your gourmet cooking lesson and 4-course Spanish meal. Afterwards, you will embark for a private cooking lesson at a prestigious cooking school where you will learn the secrets of the best seafood paella, suquet or crema catalana in town. Sit back and relax with a glass of wine or put on your apron and participate if you prefer! Either way you will be sure to enjoy the chef's cooking from appetizer to dessert.

After lunch, you will traverse the city on a historical walking tour through the Gothic quarter of Barcelona! Barcelona Gothic Quarter
takes you from ancient Roman fortifications, to medieval buildings, or to the old neighborhood of Picasso. Locals keep the Barcelona Gothic area well-preserved medieval streets and buildings buzzing with life. You will visit the famous Sant Jaume Square, Barcelona Cathedral and Plaza Reial. As you wander closer to the Barcelona Ribera District, also called El Born, you’ll also find a classic example of “Catalan Gothic” architecture at Santa Maria del Mar Church. Unlike churches combining the styles of different ages because of long construction, Santa Maria del Mar Church, located in the heart of El Born area, was all built within 100 years and is admired for its pure 1300s style. And to round off your gourmet day, we will finish with dessert as the locals would, at an authentic and charming venue with chocolate con churros!
