Olite is the wine capital of Navarre, ancient capital of the old Kingdom and the wines of Bodegas Ochoa Winery are a reflection of the strong personality of this land. In fact, one could even say that wine is a member of the Ochoa family. The Ochoa family has been linked to the wine of Navarre since the fourteenth century. Specifically, Mayor Ochoa de Ayanz’s wine was very appreciated by kings Charles II and Charles III. Spanish Bodegas Ochoa Winery has been working for over six centuries, thus being one of the oldest wine producers in Navarre. The origin of their current wine cellar dates back to 1845, a date etched in stone on the old cellar. The current Navarra Wine Museum is situated at the old house belonging to Fausto Ochoa.
At Spanish Bodegas Ochoa Winery the family are convinced that quality begins in the vineyard and that’s the reason why they only work with grapes grown on their own vine stocks, planted, pruned and harvested by the Bodega. Spanish Bodegas Ochoa Winery know their raw materials well and treat them very gently in order to guarantee quality from the beginning. They pamper the vineyard, respecting its natural balance at all times, but also take advantage of new technologies. They carry out research programs to provide their products with a combination of tradition and modernity, thus creating innovative wines.
The quality of Spanish Bodegas Ochoa Winery wines is so important to them that their wines are only available when they are ready to offer their best.
Bodegas Ochoa Winery offer amongst other good wines, Gran Reserva and Reserva wines under the name Ochoa which are round and complex wines with high levels of tannins.
