Spanish Wineries By Region

Emilio Miro Salvat was founded in 1957. It is located in Reus, the center of the \"Baix Camp\" district in the province of Tarragona. This is highly positive on two accounts: on one hand, this allows the control and supervision of the numerous properties in the village of Cornudella; vineyards that have been in the hands of the Miró family for generations, mainly planted with the \"Grenache\" and \"Macabeo\" grape varietals. On the other hand the small distance between Reus and Tarragona, base of the \"Regulatory Council of the Designation of Origin Tarragona\" facilitates the relationship of the Council with Emilio Miro Salvat, as the Miró family has a place on the Tarragona DO Board. Old and valuable family experience, constant quality improvements and providing good service has placed Emilio Miro Salvat in a predominant position both in domestic and international markets. The Miró family has been devoted to the production of its wines, both still and sweet fortified, since 1957. In the old days the winery was dealing with wines and vermouths in bulk, but this was totally modified in 1978 and they now bottle their own products. Emilio Miró Salvat, S.A.
